Galicia Jewish Museum (Żydowskie Muzeum Galicja)
Galicia Jewish Museum is one of the main spots on the cultural map of Kazimierz, founded in 2004 features diverse exhibitions and cultural events.
Galicia Jewish Museum is located very near the famous Szeroka Street in Kraków, in Dajwór Street specifically, and was founded by the British photographer Chris Schwarz in 2004.
Originally the building of the museum served as a furniture factory covering over 900 m², now being completely converted into a cultural centre building and cafe for visitors.
Galicia Jewish Museum holds many permanent exhibitions such as "Traces of Memory" which is a tribute Jewish heritage Kraków, as well as temporary exhibitions on various topics.
The museum also holds cultural events concentrating mainly on the traditional art and to contemporary artists of Jewish descent, promoting intercultural dialogue.
There's also a bookstore there offering books in various languages on Jewish life, culture, and identity.
The Galicia Museum has become one of the main hubs for the Jewish culture and has become a vital part of the Polish and Jewish cultural landscape in Kraków, so it's definitively worth a visit.
